ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Julie-Anne and I'm a chemical engineering grad student at the University of Toronto . In other words, I spend most of my time in the lab, studying how proteins assemble to form organized structures like you and I.
A few months ago, my research group shipped me off to Nordic Europe (Finland) to collaborate on a project. I've had the wonderful opportunity to travel through Scandinavia and Southern Europe, meet new people and live new cultures.
I've had a blast, but for now I'm heading back home (Toronto).
I'm not a "loud" person, nor am I quiet. I prefer saying that I am reflective. i'm open minded and enjoy meeting people with different perspectives from my own. I'm passionate and invest myself wholly into whatever challenge I decide to tackle.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm passionate about knowledge, and wish never to stop learning.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
This is my first time on the CouchSurfing website. I really look forward to meeting new people on my way home to Toronto, and can't wait to offer my couch!
兴趣
When I'm not in the lab researching away, I enjoy reading (for pleasure), baking (I love bread!), knitting, and playing the piano (I'm def a Chopin and Schubert nerd). I try and maintain a daily yoga practise and love equestrian sports (I try and ride at every opportunity given to me).

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
The most amazing thing I've seen AND done would be climb a via ferrate in the Dolomite mountains in northern Italy - I am terribly afraid of heights. Controlling my fear and pulling through was a very fulfilling achievement that I am extremely proud of.
