About Me

One time I drew a picture of a giant couch with an angry face sitting on a Japanese rice field. I named him Couchzilla. This is an example of my personality.

One time on Reddit /r/trees there was a picture of a baked potato on a couch. That is how I'd summarize silly-meta. And meta should always be silly in my book!

I'm a writer, singer, and someday, I hope to become an elementary school teacher. I am gregarious, energetic, a little distracted, and devoted to daydreaming. I'm also legally blind, but I'm on a constant quest to push myself to remain optimistic.

I love yoga, The Shins, baking, old school video games, reading, Albert Camus, and improvisation.

I'd say I'll always be a novice at most things, but what's wrong with enjoying novelty? I can brag because I am super popular. I love to listen to people's stories and encourage friends to feel good in their skin. I look forward to taking in the world in any way I am able.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend and I are hoping to go to a MIlo Greene concert in Indianapolis, IN this weekend for my birthday!

I'm also in a band. We're all good, experienced musicians, but collaboration has only recently begun. I expect we'll travel if anything comes of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I dropped out of music school, after unhappily singing opera/musical theatre and losing my nerve at every turn. I sang a German art song at my Grandmother's funeral this past year. That event, as painful as it was, gave me the courage to start singing again(in front of people). I don't know if that's amazing per se, but I'm so grateful I didn't bulk.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make kids laugh, smile, skip, hop, and do all manner of things ridiculous. I have experience as a preschool teacher and camp counselor. I know I'm excellent with children. They inspire me a great deal.

Learning is life.

I can share my story, my hope, my passion. I am almost fluent in French but admittedly rusty.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make you the most delicious lemon cookies you've ever eaten, among other confections. I can also do yoga, babysit, or clean! Whatever the circumstance, I intend to be incredibly conscientious of your time and space.
