Обо мне

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to replace Ottawa with Vancouver. Make Vancouver my NEW HOME and start fresh. I'm an extrovert. People are always telling me that I would be extremely successful in Vancouver, due to the liveliness of the city.

ABOUT ME

Sup, Couches? I'm new to this, but I'm just going to pretend I'm not so that I feel a bit more like I know what I'm doing!

Anyways, my name is Justin. I like to step out of my comfort zone and seek personal and spiritual growth.

I believe it's important to contribute to society. It's not going to fix, it's self, if ever there is even hope. (as terrible as that sounds, it's lookin' pretty rough, folks!)

Speaking of society, I love to socialize!! Beer is cool shit and so are wine and cocktails, too. If you like either of those, we are going to get along! You see, I'm a bartender. So I know more than is needed to be known about everything from shooters to sparkling wine. I love introducing people to new flavor profiles and matching personalities to drinks... not that anyone is ever limited to being matched with one particular drink.

I do all sorts of interesting jobs, currently working as a slave for the government during the day, but at night I am a bartender at numerous establishments. I have a rule, I avoid drinking the same cocktail or beer more than once, unless it's the only alcohol available during a social event, or unless it's free. I'm big into molecular mixology, which is science meets cocktails - changing the physical properties of beverages in order to achieve something new. Each and every time you make a cocktail using molecular mixology methods/recipes, you are guaranteed to blow someones mind.

Speaking of molecular, I like science, too. I can appreciate that everything can be connected to some form of science. I think it's cool that science is infinite and that we can never master it all. I like not knowing the answer to everything, but I like being able to know how to get the answer if I need to. See what I'm getting at? I like what the universe contains for us to discover if we are meant to. And I like what we may not be meant to discover. Science has an element of mystery. And that, I think is awesome!

I paint abstract on canvas. I enjoy writing whatever. I always seem to be able to make writing enjoyable when I can get around to it. One of the things I want to do before the end of my story is to write a book. I think that would be an important milestone - a quest of discipline, yet expression.

I bike a lot. Biking is my sport and in the winter, I try to swim. I do Geocaching, where there is a lot of hiking involved, and I know it already goes without saying, but I like to hike, too.

I volunteer sometimes. Mainly at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario or the National Capital Commission. At the hospital, I help design programs for youth with mental health disorders, such as depression. At the National Capital Commission, I do logistics for events here in Ottawa.

There is a lot more to get to know about me, but we will save that for the couch! I want you to be comfortable with me so I listed a good chunk of what I'm all about. I'll include a bit in the other sections, as well, but feel free to ask me any questions you like! I am a super open guy with absolutely nothing to hide. I'm looking forward to getting to know you, as well! :)

PHILOSOPHY

I am an idealist, not a realist. You see, the difference between idealists and realists is that we idealists at least have bigger dreams. Idealists have visions and they set the bar high. Idealists shoot for the stars, but at least land on the moon if they fail. Realists shoot for the moon and fall to the ground.

I am an optimist. I take risks that must be taken. I learn from my mistakes and then I try again. I'm always seeking spiritual growth. I like to learn something and then move on and try something new. I am a hunter, and not a farmer. - Hunters go for it, farmers wait for it. I'm competitive and resourceful.

I'm upbeat, not deadbeat. I do something when I see theres something that just doesn't seem right. Justice is important to me and I believe in seeking truth and meaning.

We ARE here to serve MANY purposes. This is why I like to do many things with my life, is to redeem myself for past lives that I may have not fully served. We are here to serve each other and not ourselves. We take care of them and they should take care of us, but if they dont, then who cares? Just move on. Selflessness is key.

I'm alright with pain. For it is through difficulty that the soul is purified. I'm cool with the universe messing with my life because the universe is balanced and everything happens for a reason. I could miss my bus and it will change the course of the rest of my life. Take me on a different path, to an alternate ending. But you know what? I'm okay with that.

I'm a Roman Catholic who believes in many things. There is no definition to life and there is no right or wrong belief. I believe in Karma, but it doesn't mean I'm Hindu. It just means that I appreciate BALANCE and the reasoning behind certain balancing acts that our lives will perform. I appreciate that souls have a karmic cycle and that it is toward the end of these karmic cycles that we are most wise.

I believe that there is no 'morally wrong' or 'morally right'. My mother studied moral philosophy in university and she explained to me one day that people's morals are the way they are, based on the way they were brought up. They understood things in ways different from one, another.

That, I think is interesting. And if you have anything that you think is interesting, then I'd love to hear it!
