About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm on a mission of self exploration. Paradoxically this mission cannot be completed alone.

ABOUT ME

My name is Jarrod. I am a student of life. Although I am also a student of an institution of higher learning, my greatest teacher has been life itself. I have experienced many challenges and many triumphs that, along with my agency, have shaped me to become the human being that I am today. Not one to remain static, I allow myself to be malleable and open to new experiences and alternative ways of viewing the world. I consider myself to be a healthy person and I enjoy an active lifetstyle. Endurance sports like running are close to my heart and healing to my mind. I am deeply introspective and somewhat analytical. This is a double edged sword in the sense that I question myself often-sometimes leading to desair, but almost always encouraging positive growth. I am spiritual, and non-religious. I recognize that the two certainly overlap, however have yet to contain myself within the boundaries of a faith based group. My journey is inward towards the evolution of my own soul. I am friendly and as non-judgemental as spending my entire life within a competition based, western socity/paradigm will allow for. I seek a similar quality from others.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is certainly subject to the influence of my experience. From where I stand today my philosophy is summed up with a lesson I learn from being a runner. "I put one foot in front of the other, keep moving forward, and appreciate every step along the way" I live to become a better Jarrod.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like this question because I think about it often. I wasn't always one to participate, in life that is, so I appreciate the nature of the query. I participate by making myself vulnerable, putting myself out there, and keeping my eyes open. I challenge my beliefs constantly and examine my life. Praxis being the goal of living an examined life. (the extent to which there is harmony between what I think about and what I do).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

At current I am a newbie so have only the fantastic feedback of friends who have referred me to the site to work with. I am looking to capture a similar experience.

The most amazing thing that I have ever done is wake up.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have experienced many challenges and many triumphs; Both great teachers. I feel that even though I am only twenty five, that I have a wealth of experiences to share with the world.
