Depending on the day you might find me walking at the ocean and having a proper make out session with the wind or running outside to stand in the rain. I love hiking at the headlands. There are magical things there, hidden in the hillsides. Also, there is a symphony of fog horns, wind, waves, buoy bells, sea birds, frogs, and owls which is utterly fantastic to sit and listen to while watching the sunset over the Pacific. I once climbed high enough there that I could watch a cloud unfurl in front of me and hit me in the face. I enjoy such things. I enjoy things like zip-linging and airplanes and aerobatics. Never tried skydiving but would like to. I've always been fascinated by wing-walking and would love to try it one day. I'm not an adrenaline junky though. I'm rather cautious in general.

I'm pretty passionate about the things that I love. I still have a child-like awe about the world. I often react to random beauty with overly-enthusiastic exclamations of joy. Sometimes causing people around to become alarmed by my sudden enthusiasm. I'm soulful and intense but also very playful and silly. I tend to be full of contradictions. I'm not big on small talk, I prefer to have a real conversation. I love to laugh. David Thorne, David Sedaris, Eddie Izzard, Sarah Vowell and the like crack me up no end.

I have an obssesive love of piano-type-things. I think music is powerful magic. I love to make music but I don't perform. I read a lot of fiction. I love to make photographs. I tend to get interested in what I'm talking about and go on and on until somebody stops me.

I'm empathetic to a fault and I am compulsively open with people. I'm a sucker for animals, low resonant sounds, nerdy folks, the moon, sunsets, musical instruments, wind chimes, and things that sparkle. I have a problem with shiny things. Very distracting.

I'm looking to spend time with some open and compassionate people. I don't do well with judgmental or critical people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There's a huge lack of travel in my life. I adore adventures and learning new places but the experience has been far too rare. I would like to start venturing out more and rather than blow a bunch of money on hotels where I don't really get a real experience the idea of connecting with local folks is really appealing. I also love sharing the beauty of this place that I am lucky to live in with people who haven't been here before. I'm new and I'm not really sure how it all works but I have a few friends who swear by this site.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was lucky enough to meet and fall head over heels in love with an aerobatic pilot who took me literally head over heels tumbling through the skies in airplanes. It is by far the coolest thing I've ever gotten to do. He opened up an entire world for me of magic and I will never be the same. I am now in ground school.
