Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't couch surfed yet - i am brand new! I am hoping to couch surf across Europe in the next 3 weeks.

Interests

Buddhism, contemporary art, outsider art, allotments, self publishing, DIY music and gigs, dancing, having a good ole chat, playing the drums, wishing i could play the guitar like Thin Lizzy or Marnie Stern mebeee...

Music, Movies, and Books

i love films... some of my favourites are Hausu, Society, Zardoz, Robocop, A room with a view, Philadelphia Story. My favourites of music off the top of my head are Kate Bush, Neutral Milk Hotel, Animal Collective, Captain Beefheart, Printed Circuit, Spin Spin the Dogs, Sparks, B52s and Devo.

I love Ernest Hemingway. I also like lots J G Ballard, Jeannette Winterson...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A bird called great Skua tried to knock my head off once. It was on a bird reserve in the Shetlands, an island called Nos (means 'Nose' in Norse!). I was strolling across the middle of the island, which (unbeknownst to me) you're not meant to do, and i spied a bird swooping and thought that's beautiful - look at the wing span... hold on ...it's heading for my face! I sprinted away, waving a newspaper over my head - the Skua swooped and circled 3 times before i dived over a wall out of it's nesting territory. Still have nightmares! fine times!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach any surfers who stay with me some rudimentary things about growing vegetables. We can go up the allotment and talk about compost and pumpkins!!

I've got some drawing skills i think and do genuinely think everyone can draw - just need some tips, hinters and lots of playing.

I would love it if anyone who stayed with me could teach me some guitar tunes or piano skills. Also any foreign language skills would be much appreciated.
