About Me

Enjoy life in New York and travel as often as necessary to remain sane. See as much sunshine as possible and enjoy life.

I'm a 27 year old Australian currently living in New York. I work as a musician and sound engineer here. I work at a Jazz venue and a studio. I'm going traveling in Brazil for three months this year 2013 and 2014. Hope to see you out there !

Living in Brooklyn right now is working well for me. Great food, great people and lots of stuff to do. I love traveling and have so much of America and the rest of the world to see. Would love to host more and show people the city or if i ever get back to Australia then could show you round there.

Try and get up in the mornings and then trying to forgive yourself when you don't

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently staying in a pretty tight space in New York and may be able to give a couch. I would love to have people stay especially when i have a more solid living arrangement, wherever that will be in the world!.

I did spend some time on a couch in Salvador (Brazil) and then some more in New York. It was a really good experience and I was able really able to experience the day to day culture from a locals perspective.

magic, egg on spoon racing contests, rolling around in grass, riding my bike next to trains and then going faster that the train and thinking 'see train… you're not so good!', watching stupid movies like driving miss daisy and NOT crying, flipping pancakes, talking to my mate kevin about stupid stuff, New York and then leaving New York.

Music, Movies, and Books

Here's where i pretend i read books and don't watch crappy American movies. I actually once read a book about monkeys that cooked stuff. It was called 'catching fire - how cooking made us human'. Another time (not that long ago) I read another book called 'A line in the sand', which was about what a bunch of jerks the English were around the 1930's. Well, to be fair everyone was a bit of a jerk during that time in the middle east. Anyway I digress. I like movies as well and probably wont list them right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam in the amazon with dolphins, which was pretty tight. Playing on the subways in a New Orleans band in New York. More musical experiences like playing with Eddie Bo or Marva Whitney. Living in Rio was full of incredible experiences as is living in New York.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach music stuff. I was at a music conservatorium for 4 years studying jazz and then also studied a further 3 months at a music school in Rio de Janeiro. At the moment I mainly play electric and acoustic guitar in funk, pop and blues settings. I also play a Brazilian instrument called the cavaquinho, which i primarily use for Samba and Choro. I am always so keen to show people how to play these instruments or teach them about music. I can do other stuff as well like poach eggs, but you can probably just google that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Viet Nam
