ABOUT US

My partner (Gabriel, 28) and I (Kaja, 24) are a very open-minded couple, that has been together more than 4,5 years.
We both finished our Bachelors Degree in Forest Engineering in spring 2017. We are both 'state-certified forest pedagogics' in Germany and love to show others how beautiful our earth is. In Germany there are unfortunately a lot of people who are really distant to nature that's why we've chosen that way for us. (You know there's not so much wild space left in Germany with all the 82 Million citiziens (-: )
We live in a very rural and silent piece of Bavaria called ‘Altmühltal’.
During our trip through New Zealand we also watch out for forestry or ecological jobs as we both could imagine living (permanently) in New Zealand. So if you have a hint for us, we would appreciate to hear it :)
I (Kaja) travelled nearly one year through New Zealand 6 years ago and I totally fell in love with this beautiful country.

Our trip through New Zealand will start in November 2017 and will last for at least 3 months, maybe more (6 - 9). After that we'd like to visit Polynesia, Japan.. we have to look how far life is going to take us :)

We have our own home with us (the tent) and want to explore New Zealand and the upcoming countries mostly per foot. In NZ the plan is to hike some parts of the 'Te Araroa Trail' and also some other trails along our way. During our jouney we do helpX (little bit like wwoofing), but Couchsurfing is also a great way to discover different cultures!
We look forward to get to know the real kiwi-culture and to meet many different, interesting people, that's why we joined Couchsurfing!

Apart from that we are very friendly, uncomplicated, honest, focused and responsible people and we’re really open for every new experience!!!
We are non-smokers and don't drink much alkohol (apart from 1 or 2 glasses of wine or beer sometimes).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting different cultures and people is very essential to us (and we really love it!!), as we want to live in harmony with other human beings and the nature. And in our opinion knowing and understanding each other is very helpful for that aim ;-)

Interests

Hiking and walking through the nature is a big part of our lives, as we want to live close to mother nature. We try to live an ecological and sustainable lifestyle, for example we are interested in alternative house-building, permaculture etc.

For relaxing we both love reading books, cooking a good meal, having a glass of wine or beer ;_) and nice and deep chats about 'god and the world'.

Apart from that we love music! Together we play many kind of instruments (piano, guitar, flutes, shakuhashi, sansula, digeridoo, singing bowls, Jew's Harp ..) and sing together and of course with other people too. If you'd like to do mantra singing or want to have a personal soundhealing workshop - just ask :) Before we started our journey we've recorded our first CD. We also enjoy fishing, kayaking and horseback riding.

In Germany we've organised the last years a philosophical, ethical, spiritual festival based on the books of James Redfield (The Celestine Prophecy) which was each time 1 week long with about 200 - 300 visitors. If you have any questions about organising a festival or stuff like that, we would love to help.
