ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Kalie (pronounced Kay-Lee) and I am currently a Masters student at the University of Pennsylvania. I moved here in August 2014 and am still finding new places all over the city!
I previously served a term as an AmeriCorps VISTA at a Philadelpha-based organization called The Food Trust working with local farmers' markets, and also as an AmeriCorps member in Central Washington last year working for WenatcheeOutdoors, an outdoor non-profit with guidebooks, trip reports, and event calendar of all outdoor events in the local area.

I love to read and write and spend time outdoors. I lead a very active lifestyle: I am always running, hiking, biking, and swimming. I am passionate about volunteering because I get to meet new people from eclectic backgrounds and upbringings. I love traveling, experiencing new things and learning about culture, history and people. I am also a veteran cheese and wine appreciator and working my way toward becoming a cat lady.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone has something to teach us and everything will work out. Live simply and learn much. It's nice to be important but its more important to be nice.

**I apologize for not being able to host, but I am currently serving as a Resident Advisor in the dorms, so I live in cramped spaces with tight security! When I move out I will certainly be hosting again though!**
