About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make the best manhattan ever made.
ABOUT ME
Red hair, possibly related to a satyr or other mystical musical mischeif maker. Endless curiosity, steel box for a brain. Guitarist, Mixologist, Master Jugler.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is constant learning. And I want to learn as much as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have informally couch surfed for years, and my couch wherever I've lived has always been open to passers through. I love meeting new people, especially musicians, artists, and Italian speakers.
For the last several years I have mainly participated by hosting. I know my response rate is low, but that is because most of my couch surfing interactions are handled through my partner's account. She checks FAR more frequently than I do, so if you're trying to reach us, check out https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/agb85.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The best couch surfing experience I ever had as a guest was with a woman in Sarasota Florida. She was a museum curator, and her house was always full of young artsy types passing through. And there were weekly craft nights, which brought together a menagerie of different people to the house. Her doors were always open to anyone.
Interests
You'll always find me with books. Probably fiction. I spend a great deal of time reading, and often loan/borrow books
I like live music, and play a couple instruments myself. I have several guitars lying around the house and would love to jam if anyone is interested.
I bartend, and have a great appreciation for both food and drink. I go out to bars/restaurants frequently, and like showing people a good time.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I was raised on Punk, so I love anything that doesn't take itself too seriously. Pretension is the road to arrogance. Some favorites are Ween, Patti Smith, the Velvet Underground, the Pogues, the Dead Kennedys, the Clash, Robert Johnson, and too many other to list.
Books - I grew up loving fantasy and science fiction, and would have to say my favorite authors are Tolkien and Vonnegut. I am an ardent bibliophile, so I'll read almost anything.
Movies - I enjoy the whimsical, the humorous, and often times the gory. Argento, Raimi, and Del Torro are current faves. I also adore Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Spike Jones, John Carpenter, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once had a stare down with the pope, as he popemobiled by in St peter's square. I could tell he was trying to figure out why a kid with a purple mohawk was standing at the very front of the crowd, amidst devout grandmothers in head scarves.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an avid historian and basically a huge nerd, so anyone that wants to discuss the minutiae of world growth will be met with an excited conversation. I also love futurism, and the fact that we are currently living in a society that science fiction authors could only dream of.
I am an amatuer musician, by which I mean no one pays me, so those of a musical disposition will find me over-eager to share and learn. I play guitar and trombone with some skill, and everything else with great enthusiasm.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook you dinner, change your car's oil, talk about the historical context of present day events, make you a website, or probably just make you laugh.
