Hi,

I'm Kate! I am currently living in London, having moved from Hampshire. I am a full-time Primary school teacher and soon to be taking a career break for 2.5 months to travel around this amazing world of ours.

I am very family orientated and am an Aunt to 2 beautiful nieces and an awesome nephew too, I love spending time with my friends and being active. I'm not someone who is really into having lots of 'things', more enjoying experiences and trying something new.

I am vegetarian and would love to learn some new recipes on my travels that I can share as I trot around the globe and share with my loved ones on my return. I love meeting new people and hope that when I have finished my travels and settle back to life in the UK, that I too can welcome people into my home and show them everything I love about my life here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am back-packing for 2.5 months starting next summer and am keen to make my limited budget go as far as possible whilst giving me the opportunity to meet new people, experience new adventures and see a country from a 'local's' eye.

Interests

I love creating and enjoy all sorts of crafts. I wouldn't say I'm particularly brilliant at any of them, but I always try and find it a great way to relax.

I really like to sing too. I'm not in a choir or anything, but often find myself singing without even realising.

I like football (soccer) and support my family's club Brentford.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am an avid Harry Potter fan and loved both the books and the films. Similarly I love Christmas movies such as Home Alone, Elf, Miracle on 34th etc. This is probably why I teach children....I'm just a big kid at heart!

As for music, from the age of 8, I have loved Ella Fitzgerald. I also love Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Smokey Robinson and all the other greats of days gone by.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I chopped 17 inches of my hair to donate to a children's wig making charity and donated funds raised to OTW- a charity I volunteer with that offers free camps for children with serious illnesses.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn everything I possibly can from anyone I meet and hope that in return, I too, can share my knowledge. As I say I am vegetarian and would love to learn some new recipes and share some of my favourites too!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like baking and cooking, so would be more than willing to 'give back' with some yummy treats.
