COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with two couchsurfers before, one in Normandy and one in Amsterdam, and it was a great experience. At my apartment in Bogotá my roommates and I also hosted couchsurfers and met really nice people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I try to lsiten to as much music in Spanish and French as possible to practice. I love reggaeton and salsa, and recently I've been listening to older, classic French music, like Edith Pilaf.

I love to read, especially American, British, and Russian classics. Currently reading L'Elegance du Herisson (The Elegance of the Hedgehog).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing Machu Picchu in Peru was quite amazing, the ancient Inka city. Also, Cassis, France is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, it's along the Côte d'Azur and has the bluest water you've ever seen.

But probably the most wonderful experiences I've ever had is dancing in a cumbia comparsa in the Carnaval de Barranquilla in Colombia. It's the second largest festival in Latin America after the one in Rio, and I love to dance, so it was amazing being a part of a traditional Colombian dance group in front of thousands of people.

Teach, Learn, Share

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” — Mark Twain
