Music, Movies, and Books

I like being entertained and I'm open to anything in which anyone finds any value.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a trip in high school to the Philippines, one morning we woke up at 3:00am to drive an hour to the beach to watch the sunrise over the ocean. The whole drive was full of the most amazing blanket of stars I've ever seen because we were in a small mountain village where there was very little access to electricity, and no light pollution for miles. Amazing!

Second moment was more terrifying/invigorating. When I studied abroad in Tanzania, we went on a night hike (despite the numerous "IT IS DANGEROUS TO WALK AT NIGHT" signs around the national park area). We were scanning the trees looking for bush baby eyes when my headlamp caught the forward-facing round eyes of a predator. Everyone in our group came over to stare down the leopard for a while, not sure whether or not to run. In that moment, we were all attacked by biting ants! The stomping and screaming scared off the leopard and we lived to hike another day... if not a little pinched. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to create! I love learning new crafts, handy skills, and cooking techniques: practices that create tangible results.

I enjoy cooking and cross-stitchery. I sing. I keep up with feminist ideas and philosophies. I can discuss intersectionality and gender power dynamics for as long as someone cares to listen. Anything that allows me to use my anthropology/gender studies undergraduate knowledge is fabulous.
Beginner in yoga and pilates, I'm open to joining someone in practice!
