One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled to Antarctica in high school with a group called Students on Ice. We were the first organized group of students to travel to Antarctica. We made history! It was an unbelieveable experience. My favourite moment might seem odd unless you were there...but it was when a group of about 10 students, myself and a professor were riding merrily in a zodiac towards the mainland. We stopped to appreciate te view and directly in front of us an enormous iceberg started to roll over. I know, I know...you're thinking: an iceberg? Didn't you see any killer whales? Seals? Penguins?...but actually, it was the most peaceful experience. It was such a gradual progression and to see something so massive roll over so slowly on its own. It really made you wonder how it was possible. And then it made you think: wow, we (as human beings) are so small in comparison to nature. We are just a blip. Not even. We're a milli-blip. We take up a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of space in this world and yet, we often forget that.
