I'm a newly minted degree holder, and I'm in the stage of life where I'm supposed to know what I want to do for the rest of it. And I sort of think that's ridiculous. I believe in being a lifelong learner and taking in the beauty of the world around us. I think that making connections with people is one of the most special parts about being human, and that there are always things to learn from others. I love discovering cultures, places, and people who are different from me and experiencing a small taste of what their life is like. I've always loved hearing about what makes people who they are and stories of where they come from. I believe in growing wiser, but not older, and remembering to be a kid at heart and have fun. I believe in knowing enough to know that you never know enough, but not letting that stop you from chasing your dreams.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I firmly believe that the best way to learn a place is to learn about the people that live there, that breath it in on a consistent basis. When I travel, I want the chance to really discover a place from the people that know it because it's their own and leave that tourist-y veneer to the tourists.

Interests

I love so many things! I think my biggest interest is learning knew things, though, and that's why I find so many things that I enjoy. I love art, music, movies, food, reading, drawing, writing, traveling, and picking up new skills.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've really been into more folk type music for a while, now, and I listen to a lot of movie and video game scores. I listen just about everything that's not rap or heavy metal, though.

As far as movies, I'm not too picky, but I'm not a fan of horror. Gore and I do not get along. I love animated movies, comedies, romcoms, and action movies and hate picking favorites. :] I'm a nerd, though, so it's not uncommon for me to marathon HP, LotR, superhero movies, or the Star Trek reboot.

Books are a thing I love a lot. Like, so much. I don't get much time to read lately, sadly, but I love YA fiction and sci-fi or fantasy. I loved Harry Potter, Skulduggery Pleasant, Uglies, and am trying to read my way through the classics now that I'm an "adult". Those have been less fun, though I don't mind some Jane Austen or Sherlock Holmes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a Jack of All Trades, Master of None, but I'm willing to teach the little I know about whatever interests we may share! I'm willing to learn whatever you have to teach me, in any aspect of life. And I'm willing to share stories, friendship, and conversation as part of the miracle of human existence.
