I'm naturally curious, I want to learn everything all the time.
I never really got past the 2-year-old "Why?" phase.
I am incredibly active, and horrible at sitting still.
An avid runner, I'm up for anything that involves moving and being outside.
I love to explore, I love getting lost and getting found.
I love listening to NPR, shows like The Story, The Moth, This American Life, Fresh Air, it's my respite from the craziness of my world.
I spend my time moving. I run at least an hour day, and listen while I am commuting, either on foot, or bike, or roller-blades, or any other excuse to get somewhere and get out of breath in the process. I am a PhD student at MIT and care deeply about energy, particularly in residential buildings, and the environment. I love cooking dinner for friends and family, and long nights of talking and laughing and dancing and joy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, yesterday I got to fly a small plane over New Hampshire, with a pilot friend of mine, land on a lake, go swimming, and then pick up and fly back. It was absolutely amazing seeing the world from 800ft, and so much more real than a jet.
I also worked in New Orleans right after the storm, and going for runs, amid the remains, and having the locals greet me warmly along the way, smiling, like I had never experienced anywhere else was phenomenal.
The landscape in South Dakota, working on the Reservation where the Battle of Wounded Knee took place. The planes, the flat land, the ability to see that the world is round.
