I chase birds (and other people who chase birds/fish/lichens/etc) with cameras, love wandering on road trips, and occasionally get stuck wondering why we think the way we do.

I enjoy a good story, and I mostly spend my time these days filming & editing, talking with various crazy/wonderful people around natural history museums, and running away from the computer for a walk when there's time.

Seeing the Pacific for the first time. (and the umpteenth time--it always puts things in perspective.)

Summertime tornado-warnings in Ogallala, NE. Sitting down to dinner one summer evening, I was watching an ominous sunset, when a flock of vultures tumbled past the window, and herd of friends raced in the door, all with dirt-blasted faces. Apparently, the wind had picked up, and a tornado was coming after all. We ran down to the basement to watch out the (probably too-large) windows, and wait for it all to pass. Ice cream never tasted better.
