About Me
Hey there! My name is Katie Mutter and I am currently a student at Rutger's University in New Jersey. I am working towards a degree in exercise science with plans to go onto a Physician Assistant Program after graduation. I don't read much, but the last book I read struck a chord within me that called me to stray from the widely accepted formula to a deemed "successful" life. Normally, we are expected to go to school, find a job, get married, start a family, blah blah blah. I am currently in school and working on finding myself a career, I intend to get married and have kids some day, but I don't want my life to revolve around this ideal notion of living the cookie cutter lifestyle. "No Baggage" by Clara Bensen was a quick and entertaining read that taught me to crave adventure. Ever since I put the book down I have been obsessed with the idea of traveling to other countries and experiencing cities from a local's point of view. I want a full and exciting life and there is nothing more terrifying or exhilarating than just taking off and doing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am not well traveled but have recently been inspired to get myself out into the world to see new things and experience new lifestyles. I am usually pretty nervous about traveling to new destinations and facing the unknown but I have recently discovered that I am even more afraid of missing out on opportunities to discover all there is to be discovered...so, here I am! Also, the book "No Baggage" written by Clara Bensen was basically all the endorsement this community will ever need.
Interests
Anything and everything sparks my interest as long as it isn't related to organic chemistry or reality television.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music is by far the soundtrack to Hamilton the Musical ( I know every characters part and could easily fill in as an understudy if only I was that lucky). I'd like to tell you that I'm one of those intellectuals that carries a book around in case I get a free moment but the truth is I am not in the least bit turned on by reading. However, I do really like "The Catcher in the Rye", "Of Mice and Men", and "A Farewell to Arms" (these were the only "classics" that I read out of many assigned novels in high school). As for movies... Remember the Titans (and really anything with Denzel Washington), Singing in the Rain, and the Notebook.
