ABOUT ME

I'm a cheerful, relaxed, and talkative person who is up for new adventures. I love learning new things, talking about life, and finding the things that make life worthwhile. Anyone who can make me laugh is automatically worth spending time with. You can never laugh too much.

I have a major in psychology and my focus is on couples and marriage therapy, so I am the most willing listener you will ever find when it comes to both relationship troubles and happiness--you will never bore me with the tiny details your friends get sick of hearing. Disclaimer: being a psychologist doesn't mean I'm analyzing your every move (or can read your mind, as some people seem to think). I'd rather spend my energy talking to people and learning new things.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in pursuing the things that make you happy, whether it's in an office cubicle or on a surf board. There is no dream too big to make happen if you set your mind to it; don't listen to what society says you should and shouldn't do with your life. It's yours and it's singular. Don't waste a minute of it.

Interests

I love everything to do with psychology and cats (not necessarily together). I also love reading fiction and self-help books in my free time because I'm always looking for new philosophies on life and adventures and how people choose to tell their stories. Right now I'm interested in traveling around New Zealand and meeting interesting people to talk with.

I feel like I could go to school forever (and with how long getting a PhD takes, I pretty much will). So I love hearing from people who are experts in anything--cars, business, giraffes, whatever. Everyone has a specialty and everyone has a life worth telling about; I want to learn those about the people I meet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Anything but horror. My favorite movies are Princess Mononoke, The 10th Kingdom, Pride and Prejudice, and Frozen.

Music: I listen to whatever my friends give me on mix tapes. Alternative, pop, rock, classical, techno, etc.

Books: I love books so much. My closet at home is filled with bookshelves instead of clothes. Some favorite authors include (but can't possibly be limited to): Sophie Kinsella, John Green, Laurell K. Hamilton, Libba Bray, and Jean Auel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been indoor skydiving 16 times, it's my favorite activity in the world.
