About Me
CURRENT MISSION
build a fabulous social network in a new town
ABOUT ME
After finishing my graduate studies (social work and public health) in 2011, I rewarded myself by taking a six week trip through Europe. It was in part a celebration of finishing school, and also to visit a very good friend of mine who lived in the US for a while when we were younger before returning to Switzerland. I visited London, Dublin, Belfast, a wee bit of Ireland southeast of Dublin, Paris, Strasbourg, Basel, Lucerne, Munich, Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, Zurich, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, and Montreux.
It was about the most amazing trip imaginable. While traveling my friend told me about couchsurfing, and I stayed with a very kind couple in Montreux, Switzerland. I'm convinced couchsurfers are some of the most amazing people on the planet.
I'm from St. Louis, but moving to Cape Girardeau for a new job. I know about two people in town, so I'm hoping that the kind people of Southeast Missouri welcome me with open arms.
I suppose that simply describes what I've been up to, but not who I am... Well. I'd like to think that I'm a pretty fun person. I'm independent and passionate, occasionally stubborn, but open-minded. I'm a vegetarian, for the most part, who really enjoys some good fish and chips. I'm comfortable either talking for hours or sitting curled up on a couch with a book. I like to drink tea, but I LOVE to drink coffee... and margaritas.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am not an avid participant yet, but fully support the concept.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As much as I tried to line up some couch surfing experiences while traveling though Europe, my timing was quite poor. That being said, I did stay with a fabulous couple in Montreux and had a great experience. I hope to do more in the future!

The sun setting over the Alps in a small town in Switzerland. Breathtaking.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a former high-school chemistry teacher, I can help you balance equations. I'm pretty decent at statistical analysis, can make a snazzy PowerPoint presentation, and my jazz hands have been called magical.
