About Me

Tell me your story, I want to listen. I want to know what has changed your life so maybe I can change mine.

I am from Chicago, IL, born and raised there most of my life. Recently moved out to the west coast, where I've always wanted to be. This last year has taught me a lot about myself, relationships with others and what can and can't be sacrificed for oneself.

Currently finishing my education in nonprofit management. Once I have that, all bets are off, but I desperately crave to experience the new...New cultures, new foods, new places, new people. Traveling is on the horizon for me.

Fully vaxxed 💪💉

Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can. If you do what you always did, you will get what you always got.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Part of why I'm traveling right now is because I'm at this crossroads and I need to get out of my current life to really think. There's been so much that has happened to me in the last year and a half, and so many things I haven't quite sorted out yet. I need headspace to weigh all of my options and life paths.

For traveling down the road, there is a strong desire within my heart to be surrounded by nature. I crave the depths of nature, the forests and the mountains and the Pacific. There's such a freedom from the pressures of this world when you commune with nature.

I also love people's stories. Humans of New York does what I wish I could do with my life, except he's 10 years older than me so he got to do it first. I want to know people's stories, to learn just a little bit about what they've gone through and what makes them unique. It helps me put my own life in perspective, and it always gives me a fresh perspective through which I can view the world. I love to listen to people telling me about their lives, and always want to make new friends.

I love creating art, period. Put just about anything in my hands and I will try to make something beautiful with it. To be honest, there isn't much that I am not interested in learning about or trying. The old saying goes, try anything once, and I want to live my life with that mentality. I am open and eager to learn and try anything!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Looking at my life I guess the most amazing thing I've done is just continue to live it. I've had a lot of cards stacked against me for the last 25 years, and have lived a life more difficult than most 50-year-olds have. So while I've gone to some cool places and seen some awesome things, what I'm most proud of is the fact that through all of the difficulties of life, I've never given up.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can open your eyes to concepts that may be holding you back without you knowing, like shame and fear, and what it takes to move beyond those roadblocks. (Thank you, 6+ years of therapy) On a technical level, I can show you how to make a wicked chicken lemon picatta, beef enchiladas, or a guacamole salsa that might just blow your mind. I can teach you about DSLR cameras and how to take incredible landscape photos.

Share: I can share all kinds of astrological information with you and read tarot for you. I'd love to share songs I've written, books I've read, and poems that move me. Nothing thrills me more than sharing deep conversations about hard topics most people shy away from, but desperately need to talk about.

Learn: I will learn just about anything-what do you have to teach me?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Not entirely sure what this section is about...I can share everything I listed above, as well as a bottle of cheap wine or a bowl (4/20 friendly) and share myself as we sit and talk about life, watch movies, listen to records, or play games well into the night.
