ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Katrine, a 23 year-old student from Norway. I graduated from educational studies this summer, so now I'm studying English. I've taken exams in the subjects pedagogy, Norwegian language, religion and ethics, and social studies with history and geography. To earn some money and get more experience I also work as a sub teacher. It's challenging, but also rewarding and I learn so much about others and myself from it.

Along with school and studies, playing clarinet has been a big part of my life. Have been playing for 15 years, and play currently in a concert band. I don't know what else to write here (this is so hard, right?..) but I think that I'm overall an alright person, with good intentions and a curious mind. Sometimes I'm a bit funny too, actually..

PHILOSOPHY

Over the last years I discovered that fear was holding me back from so many things. That's why I in 2012 told myself that "I dare not.." is not an acceptable excuse for me anymore. "Feel the fear and do it anyway". I need to practice all the time :) It helps me grow and expand my comfort zone (which I need).

To gain experience is so valuable, even if it's a mistake or not. You learn and grow nonetheless. It shapes us to who we are and who we want to be.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined the CS community because I was curious to know more about this concept. It seems to be a smart and interesting way of travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately I don't have any experiences with CS yet. This is mostly because I've been living home with my family the past years when I studied Educational studies.

But hey.. everyone needs to start somewhere, right? :)

兴趣

Write, hiking, discussions, travelling, music (both listening and playing) etc. And because of my studies I've become more interested in the world in general, gaining knowledge about cultures, history, people and so on.

I think that different people can learn different things from each other. I'd like to learn about other cultures, places and people, maybe also languages. I could share some of my culture, history and language. I guess I also could teach others about things I'm interested in or have been studying.
