Finding the best coffee in Europe.
I am a laid-back girl who loves to meet people (and especially drink coffee with them!). I love foods of all kinds, but Thai and Mexican are my favorites. I am a morning person who eats oatmeal before doing anything else. I have an extreme fear of spiders and an obsession with bluegrass.
I love talking about politics and am quite used to being surrounded by people who disagree with me. It has given me a hard shell! I love to hear other people's perspectives.
I am also a bookworm. I once won a contest because I read the most books in my entire school. I love talking about literature and movies and I would love to know more about music! I can play around on a piano or guitar, but alas--jack of all trades, master of none.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, I am a nomad--but I will repay any favors once I move into my apartment in Boston in August!
Coffee, music (bluegrass, anything mellow, classical, celtic, electro-pop), drinking wine on the banks of rivers, history (mostly about American and European history but desperately want to broaden my knowledge), world religions (also want to learn more), languages, politics, education reform, hypothetical scenarios, hobbits, accents, things that seem impossible to understand (space and the universe, for example). FOOD.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Before Sunrise, Little Miss Sunshine, anything directed by the Coen Bros.
Music: bluegrass, acoustic indie rock (Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine), classic rock and folk--Simon and Garfunkel, the Beatles, Joni Mitchell
Books: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Handmaid's Tale
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I backpacked alone for 6 weeks and learned a lot about myself in the process, including to always buy a metro ticket in Berlin unless you want to be publicly made an example. This is not meant to be my "amazing thing." That would probably be waking up on the train at 5 AM, completely alone in the middle of the Alps, and realizing not only how small I was, but also how big I could be.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have been teaching English in Germany with the Fulbright program. I am really interested in immigration and education reform and love to talk about my experiences in the school and living abroad.
