*About us* Two 21year old friends (Kayla and Mei Yinn) from Auckland, New Zealand making their way around Europe! It will be our first times travelling around Europe, both backpacking and couchsurfing, and we are excited to meet people along the way!

We both study a Bachelor of Pharmacy and have a love for food and exploring new places! Really fun, easy going girls who enjoy a good laugh! We're down for anything from roaming and exploring the streets, having a few drinks at the local bar or even a quite night in! We're also honest, and reliable, and genuinely appreciate people who are willing to host us :]

A little bit about each of us:

Kayla: Born in Hong Kong, and moved to New Zealand at the age of 2. Did piano and ballet growing up until the age of 18. I love spontaneous road trips, going to the beach, going to the gym and having chill nights in with friends. Have always wanted to travel around Europe, so honestly cannot wait to start travelling! :D Just want to live life to its fullest, and my life motto is to do something everyday that makes you smile!

Mei Yinn: Born and raised in New Zealand; of Chinese-Malaysian heritage. Have backpacked my way around South East Asia and loved the experience of meeting new people and exploring places outside the usual tourist destinations. Incredibly excited to travel around Europe, always keen for a new adventure and up for trying new things!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Would love to be able to meet new people and to get an authentic feel for each local place! We are both obsessed with food so would love some recommendations or home cooking! We would be would be more than happy to help out in the kitchen and to show you some Kiwi dishes!

This is our first time using couchsurfing which is why we don't have any references, but my sister has also couchsurfed her way around Europe and highly recommended it, especially for seeing local places that most tourists wouldn't have the chance to see.

Interests

Love exploring around hidden areas of the city but would like to see all the main attractions as well! Massive foodies who love to try new delicacies and willing to eat many, many meals a day hahaha

Music, Movies, and Books

Kayla: I love a large range of musics, anything from One Republic and Arctic monkeys and Kygo to classical music! Some of my favourite movies include Forrest Gump, Gattaca and the Imitation game.

Mei Yinn: In terms of music, I like littles bit of everything, but mainly just mainstream music with a little bit of alternative music haha.
Favourite books include the Harry Potter series, Kite runner, and any book written by Jodi Picoult. Favourite movies would be My sister's keeper, and any cartoon, especially The Incredibles and Ratatouille :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kayla- Doubled for a few days on the set of a movie that Willow Shields was in ( the girl who played Primrose in The Hunger Games!)

Mei Yinn- Watched the sunrise at the Angkor Wat temples (Cambodia) and the Sunset at the Thailand Pai grand canyons.
