One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Paris...I drank wine for the first time. I took modern dance classes, french classes, saw Monet's garden, the Rodin museum and El Anatsui's work in the Pompidu museo de contemporary art...and experienced la fete de la musique! I also took short trips to Nice and visited Normandy, Brittania, and Mt. St. Michelle...
In India I wore salwar camise and one sari, I floated through the back waters of Kerala and stayed in Amma's Ashram for a few nights, cleaned the pin of a Nile crocodile at the Madras Crocodile bank trust, saw the inside of a tea factory in Ooty, visited Pondicherry and explored Auroville, saw Pattabhi Jois's yoga school in Mysore, train rides, saw the last party of the season in Goa and got two amazing ayuvedic massages. The real reason for being there was to voulnteer in AIDS education and spend time with children.
My first time in Oaxaca, I got to tour la Feria de Mezcal with Esteban and Taryn and see La Guelaguetza with Sandy, mi intercambio <3 I was lucky to travel to Octatlan and beyond with friends from Oaxaca, saw bodies of water, rivers with people bathing and a wedding jajaja...and not so luckily got very sick.
We went to Monte Alban (very old Zapoteca city), Mitla (city of the dead), el Tule (largest or oldest tree? jajaja) and Teotitlan. I saw "El Dracula" at El Pochote with Raul and Sophia. I heard flamenco guitar performed in Oaxaca por mi amigo Kevin Luis ;-)
When living in Mexico City I saw many amazing and wonderful things and tried to do as much as possible...but what makes it magical every time for me are the people. Quintana Roo is also a very bright and happy place for me, I love the clouds there.
In Tucson, I make art, and sometimes go on the Tuesday night bike rides, love dancing, urban walks, desert hikes, and being with family and friends.
