my mission is to find a mission
Bought up in Ireland, and moved to Wales to study Photography and have returned to Ireland (eventually).
Apart form that i like reading and i LOVE music. all sorts, and researching stuff i don't understand, hiking and exploring new places (especially places people aren't meant to explore).
I like new experiences, and sieze the chance to embrace them, while trying to figure out what to do with my life, i wanna have some adventure and see some places, make some memories, and find more friends. Theres so much in the world i have yet to see.
For fun i like watching films (pretty much anything except teen movies and rom-coms. hate rom-coms) but mostly talking with my friends and listening to music. Dancing is the best thing ever (one of the best things ever), but my idea of dancing requires flailing room.
do what thou will, but cause no harm
I'm an easy enough going person, and i'm generally happy to let people get on with what theyre doing. I have a passing interest in absolutely everything, and i'll try and learn at least a little bit about it. If i see soemone doing something unusual, i'll go and talk to them. This is all directionless knowledge acquisition, but it is rather fun.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At this stage i am unable to offer lodgings, but am available to help people out any other way i can. Even if just to meet them for a cuppa tea, show them some interesating places and give them their bearings.
Never been to a registered couchsurfer spot, but have crashed on many a couch in my time. i remember the good ones. A good friend of mine put me up for a while after i finished uni, until i managed to get sorted out.So i got to see a lot of aspects of living on a couch, good and bad. (GOOD: having people about to give u a kick in the morning
BAD: havnig people around at 3 am cos they're drunk and giving you a kick.)Sufficed to say, i will sleep practically anywhere. Horizontal and inside.
Jokes aside, i wanna use the oportunity of the couchsurfing network to have a richer experience of travelling, not just to find accomodation in a designated city, but also to have people to meet in the place, people to talk to and a friendly face at the end of the line. So much more can be achieved by having a contact in an unfamiliar place. And it's something i'd gladly reciprocrate.
i enjoy photography,as well as seeing live music. and when possible, combining the both. I like cycling, and walking my mates dogs. Generally i like listening to music, if i can i'll have music of some sort playing no matter what im doing (except sleeping). or spending time with friends, talking of the issues of the day, laughing, and drinking endless cups of tea.
Whats great is going off on arbitrary walks, with no intention, usually the most fun, and exploring places (espically when the sign says 'keep out' they're usually the best)

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: at the mo just photography books and instructional documents. quite like Douglas Adams, George Orwell, Iain Banks, Anthony Burgess, Steven King, and good sci-fi novels.
MUSIC: i love music. All time favourites would be Radiohead, Nirvana, Placebo, QOTSA,System, But apart from that i like classic rock, some classical music (Tchaikovsky usually), bit of industrial, electro and new wave Gary Numan or Talking Heads or more contemporary stuff, singersongwriters like David Kitt or Norah Jones, folkish things like Broken Family Band, ambient electro and IDM, you get the idea.
FILM: all sorts. Get Carter, Bullit, Ipcress File, Sin City, silence of the lambs, iron man, The Taking of Pelham 123 (original), Die Hard,Amelie,
Finding Nemo, Tarantino flicks,Cohen Bros, I tend to range from good horror/action films to short independent films, the kind you see on telly at 2am.
like rock n roll/some metal, thrash and ska, old blues and roots, electronic, bit of classical, touch of jazz, maybe ambient electronica to round off the night.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watched the last Solar Eclipse, that was incredible. and a fella i was standing beside gave me a go of his tinted eclipse glasses, which was really cool of him. Its not really that amazing, but i was pretty amazed by it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a fair bit about photography. Not so much about photographers, but i know how to 'read' an image, and the functions of a camera, as well as dark room printing. Im pretty good at carving and woodwork aswell, and i have a touch of the green-finger.
Somethig i'd love to understand better is chemistry, never listened in school and regret it now.
