I'm a friendly, adventurous, kind and open person. I'm 34 and I have been a semi-pro musician for twenty years and have played all over the world. I have family and friends in a lot of different countries so I have travelled quite a bit but really want to travel more. I live with my partner (in love and music) of 15 years and my very old cat. I recently became an ESL teacher after doing many years of shop and hospitality jobs to help find my musical adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Although I have travelled a lot with my band you don't get to see much of the world at your own pace when you are playing every day and driving from city to city or even another country daily. My partner, Giz, and I want to take a break from everyday life and spend about a year seeing as much of the world as we can on a very limited bit of savings we've accrued from our sporadic minimum wage jobs! We are hoping to do manual labour, bar work, cooking, teaching, volunteering of all kinds and most importantly, play music, to fund our travel dreams. We hope to do some relaxing too, so that's where couch surfing comes in! Currently we live in a minsicule bedsit so we have no room to take guests but one day we hope to have a place of our own in a far flung paradise where we would be happy to repay the favour when the time comes around to those who have been kind to us.

Interests

Music is no.1 in case you hadn't gathered that yet! I live to write songs and sing. I play functional guitar and bass to back myself up when songwriting. Giz is the guitar genius. Together we love playing in bands and also acoustic stuff just the two of us. I also love to cook and feed others. I'm pretty good at quite a few different cuisines but I intend to learn more about cooking regional dishes as part of my travels. I adore animals especially cats and monkeys. I like kids, and have done some volunteering with teens and younger ones. I love to teach and meet people through teeaching. I also love to exercise, especially swimming and yoga. I'd like to get more into martial arts. I would love to improve my language skills in French and Spanish and maybe even some more exotic languages like Mandarin and Arabic.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach English, maybe a bit of singing, maybe the basics of yoga. Giz can teach guitar but not theory. I would love to cook for you. We can play music for you. Hopefully one day repay the favour with a place for you to crash wherever we end up.
