Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am fairly new to the couchsurfing community, though my husband (Kurtis Hoff) has done it all over the world. I was introduced to it for the first time in Langkowi, Malasia and I have also couch surfed in Port Hardy, Canada, and Fairbanks, Alaska.

Interests

Outdoor adventures, such as hiking, climbing, running, camping, etc., reading good books, traveling, other cultures, ethnic foods, cooking, coffee, tea, wine, and learning about anything.

Music, Movies, and Books

A great day is spent in a coffee shop drinking a quality latte and reading an engaging book. I also enjoy live music, but don't have much to contribute personally.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every summer I work in northern Canada as a payplotter in a tree planting camp. This past season was my 8th season doing this and I was able to work alongside my husband. I could teach you about reforestation and what it is like to live in a tent in the middle of no where for three months of each year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I spent almost two years learning Arabic language and volunteering in Jordan. I am passionate about Middle Eastern issues and want to be a bridge between Arab immigrants and Canadians. I currently do a lot of work with Syrian newcomers in my city and my husband and I hope to head to the region semi-longterm in the future.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a vast range of life experiences, such as cross-cultural endeavours, that I would be happy to share about. I love real-life conversations and real-life things.
