ABOUT ME

I'm Kelsey.. I'm 24 years old and moving to NYC on June 15, 2012. The only problem is I'm still looking for a place to stay. Craigslist ads haven't been very successful so far since no one wants to rent to some one they can't meet beforehand, so if you got a couch I can crash on for like a week or two while I actively meet people to find a place, that would be great =) About me? I work a desk job to pay the bills. I go indoor rock climbing 3 nights a week, and have gotten the pleasure of going outdoors a few times (Red Rocks in Vegas and Jack's Canyon here in AZ). Besides that, in my free time I catch up on a few TV shows, hike, read, play video games, listen to music, go to concerts, rent Netflix, and mainly - hang out with my friends. I really enjoy craft beers - mainly Hefeweizens and IPA's...Starting to get into porters slowly. So if you have any good brewery suggestions around where you live, feel free to share!

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live my life as fullest as possible. People say I'm brave for moving 2500 miles away to a city where I know NO ONE, but that's what I'm after- is that adventure and experience. I'm young and single, so I want to pick up and go while I still can. I don't believe in letting stupid, insignifant things ruin my day. I'm generally always in a good mood because of it. Life is life, bad things happen, I accept that and move on. Life's too short to spend it dwelling on things you have no control over. =)

I just signed up and haven't interacted with any one from here yet! I still live with my parents (saving up money for New york), so I can't host, but if any one in Phoenix wants to meet up for a coffee or beer and share experiences and dreams, feel free to contact me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost all music, but mainly indie and alternative, some rap and some electronic. I've attended the Coachella music festival the past 3 years and it's my favorite place to be. Always a great experience. My top 3 favorite artists are Jenny Lewis, Florence + the Machine and Tegan and Sara. For some reason I've been really into Lil Wayne lately, haha. I like most movies, but typically comedies or dark movies that intrigue me. Requiem for a Dream is one of my favorite movies. Same goes for books - they've got to be original stories that hold my interest. I hate Twilight but love Harry Potter, Ender's Game, and many others. My favorites to read in High school were Fahrenheit 451 and Catcher in the rye.
