About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To morph all nouns to active verbs - example: You marble, I corduroy, She soccers, He lawns

ABOUT ME

I found it was a lot easier to give fragmented bios of myself in the smaller squares above. This one will be tricky - it's harder to be clever with a longer word count. With that said, I'm an active member in the Vancouver Poetry Slam community [google spoken word if your eyes suddenly glazed over], I'm a member of one of this years Vancouver Slam Teams, as well as a part of this super awesome gizmo holy poetry group called the Candelabra Collective [we're working on a shorter name before we try to take it places]. I'm a writer, you know like, with words and stuff. My writing [the poetic facet] seldom follows an AB rhyme scheme so I may dissapoint you if you ask me to recite one. I'm super obsessed with the six wives of Henry VIII [seriously, ask me anything]. I recently got back from a trip to London I used for research for a Tudor-based novel - my effort to de-pop culture Johnathan Rhys Meyers from the sixteenth century. We'll see how that goes.
Travel-wise I've backpacked the eastern coast of Australia, been through a bunch of odd spots in Canada, and the occasional trek to the US. My experience pales in comparison to, um, the majority of this website.
As a human, I'm an awesome listener. I'm not such a fan of small talk, so try not to venture into those grounds with me. I hate pretending like I know what people are talking about, so I'm not one to 'be all frontin' on shit I know nothing about. I'm super bent on making people laugh, and I relish in turning awkward silences into comfortable pauses. Let's befriend one another!

PHILOSOPHY

Everything happens for a reason. It's the one thought that keeps me going, when all else turns to shit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I've signed up with the intent of being able to see Seattle for the first time, and once that trip is said and done, I'm sure there's more I could do. I'm more nomad than host right now, and will be for another 6 months, but once I have a place of my own again, I'd love to be a host! Huzzah!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm NOT going to lie here. I've only stayed with family and friends and family friends and friend with family, so all my references thus far would be biased. I'll get back to you when I've actually surfed someone's furniture.

Interests

Ack! All about you, only again!
Writing, blogging, friending, improv [anything], singing, acting, spontaneous trips, learning things way out of my comfort zone [ironic? cliche?], speaking in french, drawing on foggy windows, riding all forms of public transport, poetry, slamming, coincedences, sleeping in, getting up early and getting more done than those who wake up by 8, six wives, historical plays and movies and books, sweaters.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stonehenge is heavily guarded by security 361 days a year - the four that it's open to the public are the solstices and the equinoxes. I actually showed up ACCIDENTALLY on an equinox, and got to hike up at 5 in the morning to the site and TOUCH the stones, while watching a pagan blessing by the druids!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have years worth of six wives research, if anyone would care to learn or exchange the love of it. I love sharing writing, all kinds. If you're a writer, I'd love to hear some of your work.
