About Me

Graduated from SUNY ESF in May 2016, worked in CO for the USFS, now taking a road trip during my off-season

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My job with the Forest Service is seasonal; after my first season ended I found myself with a car, some savings, and a desire to travel the US as much as I could while I'm not tied down. My next work season for the Forest Service starts between mid-April and mid-May (depends on the snow melting) out in the Colorado Rockies, so I decided to take advantage of this time window I've been given to explore the cities and parks I've always been curious about. I've talked to a few people about this trip and they recommended couchsurfing so I've decided to give it a try!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: I've been listening to quite a bit of blues lately, mostly modern electric but some older stuff too. The music you'll find on my phone ranges from Led Zepplin and CCR to The Black Keys and The White Stripes, to Flogging Molly and The Dubliners.......there's much more on top of that and my musical tastes are pretty random and kind of all over the place but that gives you a general idea

MOVIES: Pretty much anything by the Coen Brothers or Wes Anderson lately but I'm super open minded. Most recent movies I've seen are The Fifth Element and Usual Suspects

BOOKS: Just finished "What is Zen" by Alan Watts, which was recommended to me by a friend; currently reading How to Read the Forested Landscape which most people might find a bit boring (and that s totally understandable!). My favorite recent books have been the Song of Ice and Fire books, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked a 12,000 ft peak this past October just as the sun was rising.

Not sure I'd say that constitutes as amazing but it was definitely one of the more interesting things I've done recently

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll learn whatever I can, I think the best things in life are better when they're shared, and I can teach you about trees

Also I like cooking/baking

What I Can Share with Hosts

Booze/food, experiences, laughs (or peace and quiet if that's preferred!).

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada
