About Me

Where to start,

I find immense pleasure in ensuring those around me are looked after and happy, I am no Sister Theresa by any stretch of the imagination.

I remember one particular event that may have relevance to this site:
Sitting in a bar in Durban, two blokes were at the table next to us and spoke with an accent.

After a few introductory beverages, I found out that they (Anti & Kari) were on R&R from UNTAG and had no idea what to do in SA.

Well, we embraced their position and decided to show them all the sites and sounds that SA had to offer in those days. Needless to say it was an adventure of epic proportions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on this site to meet new friends by extending my hospitality. I would like to share what this country has to offer with my guests.

I do travel interstate a bit and my house is also open to those who would like to stay while i am away.

Whether I am here or not, there is a car available for international travellers?

Interests

I enjoy cooking, entertaining and who can go wrong with a glass of fine wine.

I also enjoy scuba diving although work demands have impeded on this. Basically anything to do with water is cool. Oops, sorry, I cant surf.

On my bucket list is more travel through Australasia.

I am planning a drive to Perth WA in the next few weeks.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a mixed bag of nuts!

I like everthing and being a Gemini, my taste is very wide and varied.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done many things in life, but the one thing that sticks out although sombre is when I performed combined CPR on a motorcyclist that was involved in an accident.

We kept him alive, that is all his vitals for 45 minutes, while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to get a massive kick out of teaching people to share my passion of scuba diving, an element and dimension totally foreign to the new students.

The look on their faces after completing their first dive was totally exillirating.

I currently find that same reward in training and developing the business partners, franchisees and their staff aroound me. Nothing better than seeing someone develop and succeed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As above, I would like to share my house, hospitality, car and local knowledge of the area.

Countries I’ve Visited

Fiji, Mauritius, Namibia, New Zealand, Swaziland, United Arab Emirates, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In
