Formerly called Capucui. It is a true lake, formed by an old arm of the Napo River, closed hundreds of years ago by alluvial lands and later covered by vegetation until it became impenetrable jungle. In addition to the lagoon itself, there is a smaller one with the same characteristics and another called Yanacocha or Laguna Negra, due to the color of its waters, which is none other than that of the Capucui river.recommendations

How to get?

The reserve mainly protects the Limoncocha lagoon, a smaller one called Yanacocha, and the wetlands, swamp areas and tropical humid forests that surround them. Limoncocha, especially its banks and swamp areas, are home to very unique flora and fauna; adapted to live from the permanent water-forest interaction. Here we find a great diversity of species, especially water birds, which motivated its declaration as a Ramsar site, an international recognition for wetlands of great importance.
