Watching for the perfect light
I am a New Zealand photographer and film maker based in Chiang Mai since 2002. I've been hosting since I discovered CS in January 2012 and I love it!
My background is in newspaper and commercial photography and I am now primarily producing short documentary films for non profit organisations. I am motivated in the immense need in this part of the world and desire to effect change where it's needed as I am able.
I manage a video production business here and run it as a not for profit operation and prefer to work with small or independent organizations. I draw no income from the business and provide for my needs by selling photos and video online through various agencies including istockphoto and gettyimages.
I live a pretty quiet life style and value peace. My spiritual core is Christ centred. I am happy to talk about my faith and yours if you are. I am nobody's judge and prefer to live free from the bondage of religion.
"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them." Albert Einstein
"A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart, leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. It is, in a word, effective." Irving Penn
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting, organising and hanging out at CS events.
Before CS existed I had surfed during my travels in the 1980's in Canada, France, Holland, England, and New Zealand.
Since I signed up I have enjoyed hosting and joining in CS activities.
One year on and I have hosted 100 surfers (in one year) and surfed once.
Photography and video. I love visual arts and am a beginning sculptor. Coffee. Blues music. Movies. Cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books
Photo books. I love blues music. I'm a big fan of Guy Ritchie's movies, David Fincher and Baz Lurman also. Most of what Sir Peter Jackson has had anything to do with I also love. Loads more too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first place I landed after leaving the skinny little islands of New Zealand many years ago was Canada - I proceeded to hitch hike from Victoria to Quebec (and surfed a bunch of couches as I travelled.)
Teach, Learn, Share
