About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live. We live in a very complicated, virtual world that doesn't need to be so complicated or virtual. People are better than that. It's time to find ways for humans to get back to humanity with creative, thoughtful, sustainable living
ABOUT ME
I'm 23 years old. I really dig my friends, art, conversation, traveling, sustainable living, and food. I want to travel, write, and enjoy all of these things wherever natural decisions may take me.
PHILOSOPHY
"The present is a gift, and I just want to be..."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to this, so I haven't done too much yet, but I've definitely been spreading the word amongst friends, and would love to host fellow travellers whenever I stop moving.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Even when I go home I tend to sleep on the couch. But I've also spent a summer sleeping on a sleeping bag on a friend's bedroom floor. He and his brother slept a foot or two away in a bunk bed and there wasn't room for much else in the room. More recently, I've stayed on a lot of random couches in Hawaii as a result of hitchhiking or just the general aloha friendliness. Right now I'm on a couch at a friend's place typing this to you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I know I'm suppossed to write here about an ant pushing a car up a hill or something, but most recently the most amazing thing I've seen is the potential of people to do great things. We are tremendously capable beings, capable of doing anything we want, including nothing. We're living through a time that's ripe for a lot of positive change and for whatever reason, maybe from couchsurfing and meeting amazing strangers, I'm seeing that people are capable of taking advantage of that. If you think about what we've already done, how grand our accomplishments have been, and you imagine applying all of that energy and skill and intelligence into smaller, simpler things like green living, family, eating well, improving your community, etc., I think a lot of real progress could happen real soon. We've shown that we're smart enough to build technologies that make life easier and/or distract us. Let's put those down and be just as smart about exploring our potential as people.
Teach, Learn, Share
I very much like the idea of being a travelling chef that moves about staying with strangers he meets and having wonderful skillshares with those people that involve, among other things, the making of many delicious, healthy meals with all local ingredients. BUT..anything I can do to help others and help myself learn how to live more cooperatively and more sustainably is great and there are a lot of little skills I'd still like to learn and share, depending on the person.
