About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Connect with like-minded people and change the world together.

ABOUT ME

People tell me I am a very calm and relaxed person.
But to be honest, I don't really feel like that a lot of the time.

I do think that I listen quite well. Not just to what people say. But to who people are.
Of course, "listening" is not just what we hear. It's what we see and feel too.

I'm a fairly quiet person. But I'm also a deeply curious person. I'm fascinated by people and culture. And also by nature and the universe. But I think all of those things are really the same thing anyway.

I have a LOT of interests, but I find that I am drawn to things (and people) that inspire me or make me feel passionate and curious about life.

My greatest passion is dance. I appreciate many styles , and I don't really like dividing dance too much into categories, but I personally practice freestyle street dance (hip hop, house, popping, animation). I occasionally do a bit of breakdancing, and I used to practice Capoeira and acrobatics. I love to learn other styles too though, so if you can teach me something, I would be really happy :)
To me, dance is culture and communication. It is a pure expression of the self through movement and music.

I also love other forms of expressive communication like film, art, music, poetry, stories, and good conversation.

I don't eat animals (or humans)

PHILOSOPHY

"I am the world, and the world is me" <- I think this is a simple but very profound statement. Everytime I think about it, I feel it in a different way and on a different level.

"Live like there is no tomorrow, love like you have never been hurt, dance like nobody is watching."

That's not necessarily my favorite quote. But I think it's a good one. Here is another good one:

"Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie,
A fly can't bird, but a bird can fly."

I really like quotes. But unfortunately I always seem to forget them...
Then again, maybe quotes are meant to be forgotten.

I can't really sum up my personal philosophy in a few words, but if I tell you about the way I like to live my life, I'd say that I like to think deeply. I like to ask questions. I like to listen. And I like to be able to change my mind in difficult situations.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just started couchsurfing. I had some friends who did it and recommended it to me. So far it's been great! I have met so many interesting and unique people who I would never ever have met otherwise.

Ok, this is going to be a long list.
I like design, photography, dance, hip hop culture, culture in general, science and science fiction, philosophy, Native American culture, Spanish guitar, languages, snowboarding, going on adventures, exploring, spoken word poetry, the night sky, and thinking deeply.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I've seen the white desert and the ancient temples in Egypt...

I've seen millions of tiny flying ants crawl out of the earth before the rain comes and fly into the air to find a mate in the few minutes they have before their wings fall off and they return to the earth...

I've seen an Orangutan mother care for her child with at least as much affection and love as any human in the world...

I've seen people who have absolutely nothing, smile and be kind and generous to those who have a lot more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, Japanese, dance, photography, handstands...

Countries I've Visited

Cambodia, China, Egypt, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Viet Nam
