About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to perform in and establish a cultural center in Sarajevo

ABOUT ME

I never know how to describe myself, I would say that i was fairly laid back, an easy going, open minded kind of girl. I love to hear people talk about their histories and their passions. My passion is literature, I write poetry myself and love to hear others. I have been known as a bit of a party girl, but I am trying to change my lifestyle and take more care of my body. I am a sociable, bubbly person, always happy to meet new people

PHILOSOPHY

When I was a kid my Dad took me on a roller coaster, one of those that harness you in with your feet dangling. I was a little afraid when the coaster began cranking up the first hill. My dad said to me that the best way to ride a roller coaster is to lean in to it, to let go and throw yourself into the ride. This I would take to be my personal philosophy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am hoping that i will be able to meet many different people from different cultures and climates, hear their stories, tell them some of mine, and in doing so learn about myself and the world around me on my travels. I love to entertain visitors, I will be happy to receive people in any place that i live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am totally new to couch surfing, starting out on my travels I wanted to find a way that I could meet people in a more intimate and personal environment than in a hostel, where sometimes there are so many people coming and going that no real connections are made between them, that environment has a sense of urgency and movement about it that I feel out of synch with, wanting to take my time in what I do.

Interests

Poetry, film, walking in an aimless kind of way, reading all kinds of literature, listening to music, all kinds of music from techno to classical. I enjoy jazz music and the atmosphere of a place that plays good live music. I love to dance, I am probably not very good but that makes it all the more enjoyable! Cooking, tasting delicious foods! I am interested in photography, I have a camera of my own, I always enjoy a good art gallery.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Confessions of an English Opium Eater, Lolita, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, Confessions of a Justified Sinner, Lanark, Inferno, Anna Karenina, well, the list goes on.
Music: Samarabalouf, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Kinks, The Doors, Tiga, Django Reinhardt...
Movies: Pulp Fiction, Princess Mononoke, Control, The Red Shoes..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Electric lightning storms over Indonesia, seen from a beach in Thailand. The forks lit up the whole sky, where we were sitting there was not the slightest breath of air, all was silent in the night. But across the water and beyond the mountains a beautiful storm raged.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not sure that I have any skills or knowledge enough to make me a teacher, I could certainly share a lot about books that I have read, and I know some history, I suppose I would have some educational stories to tell. I am interested in learning more about photography, in particular for analogue cameras.
