I guess I'd usually rather participate and do horribly than not even try. Most of the time. Unless it's bungee jumping or brain surgery. Then, not so much

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The last time I felt super-small in an awesome way, I was standing on the end of a jetty in Newport Beach at about 2am when the tide was in and the sky was mostly clear except for a few scattered clouds beautifully backlit by a bright bright moon and while I stared into the sky the land in my periphery faded and I felt unique and tiny in a way I had never felt before and will always remember as a crystal clear moment of clairity
