Defer college for a year and travel by bus from Oaxaca to Paraguay (starting next summer)

ABOUT ME

I'm a chill, easygoing person. I can sometimes be kinda reserved, but around the right people I'm a funny, spontaneous and all around fun dude. I was born in Burlington, VT, but moved around a lot as a kid and am currently in California. I've always been fascinated by different cultures (which is why anthropology and cooking are my main interests). This is probably because I grew up in a multicultural household; I'm Indian, Filipino and Puerto Rican...my family's legit. I love traveling and seeing countries and places as they actually are (rather than from a 5 star hotel)
But I'm not gonna put myself in any boxes, as cheesy as that sounds, cuz it's not that simple :D

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy yourself while you can, because you never know when something might happen (happy doomer!). I could care less about money or a "good" job (or my future...probably not such a good thing). I just want to be happy and live a life I see as fulfilling. I tend to go with the flow and take life as it comes. Oh and of course, don't let anybody push you around

Volunteered with Amigos de las Americas in for two months each in Paraguay ('10) and Oaxaca ('09). It's a grassroots community development organization, sort of like peace corp for teenagers. It is basically collaborating WITH the community rather than working FOR them, creating more sustainable projects. Both experiences were simply amazing
