About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Changing paths in life, want to create new connections.

ABOUT ME

I'm always in, someone says, who wants to... I'm in!

People who have just met me might describe me as fun, sincere, honest, reliable, and a good listener (I hope)

My friends probably would say it goes deeper than that, but the rest is still true ;)

PHILOSOPHY

We are all a part of a great social web. When we connect with someone else, we have put another strand of silk in that web.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to walk and enjoy the nature of people, and our environment. When you're in a place, whether it's a city or rugged countryside, if you close your eyes you can feel the energy of a place. It's why we live.
I love meeting new people, hearing their stories and really connecting with them. It's a great feeling to know you've made a difference to someone else.

Interests

I love music, (the kind that opens you to new thoughts)
I love nature, (the smells and sights awaken something in all of us we truly need)
I want to know more about people. (you can always learn something new from someone new!)
I enjoy art, (though I often don't understand it)
I'm a crazy football fan (this means soccer) and love to hear other people's stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing on the soccer fields in the mountains of Ecuador. Great players have trained here for decades, above the clouds, and shared the camaraderie of their teammates.
In Ecuador, I visited Salasaca, and spent a day travelling in the area of Ambato. The culture is so rich in the things that matter, without the attachment to money and possessions that drives so many people.
When traveling in China, I was able to visit many temples and shrines. The people I encountered devote a great deal of time and thought to their spiritual health. It is very different from western religions. There is no fear of consequences driving their actions or beliefs, only a need to care for themselves, be a part of a community.

These travels instilled a deep belief in me. Sharing yourself, emptying yourself to others is the best way to fill yourself.

Teach, Learn, Share

Eyes and hands. These are two of the best tools to communicate we have, and neither depends on language.
A handshake is a greeting, a gentle squeeze conveys comfort.
"The eyes are the window to the soul" I believe in this, you can connect with someone with just a look, communicate compassion, sincerity, or love in a moment.
Combine the two and you can't miss.
