Join Couchsurfing to see Kitty’s full profile. It’s free!
I could easily be talked into joining some hippie cult in a forest. But that's neither here nor there. I'm witty, intelligent, affectionate, and am humbled more than I am vain. Most comfortable roaming about the woods with my derpy dog, but also fare well in heels at work (I'm very good at spotting uneven surfaces now after that last spill...). I have wanderlust and am spontaneous - these two often go hand in hand if given a spare moment to cook up any road trip plans.
GAL PAL TESTIMONIAL: kitty has a natural grace and class even when telling you about her menses or urinating in public. she's creepy smart with amazing comedic timing and carries that humor through even the toughest situations. i'd say she's the diplomat and comedian of our group. and she effortlessly goes from feminine to outdoorsy. she hates that the only capital letters used were in all caps to preface this psa. especially neglecting acronyms. heh.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've given in to said wanderlust after ten years of working for software startups and advertising agencies and feeling "stuck". I want to explore the country and feel like I choose the place I end up, instead of relocating because of obligation. I quit my job, packed up Ruby the Volvo wagon, and am excited to meet new people and learn about their journeys. So far, I've made a couple lifelong friends who've kept me inspired to keep adventuring.
Afternoon naps, SPF 1,000, Oxford commas, Taco Asylum's ghost pepper sauce, road trips, laughter, IBUs, hoodie weather, wines that begin with "c", battery life status of all the things, cooking everything with Garlic Expressions, perfecting my Diane Rehm impression, trying to have as many good hair days as possible without really knowing how to operate a blowdryer, super sleuthing, eating masochistically spicy food, uphill mountain biking, rare steak, Jeff Goldblum... :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I own a lot of linguistics and social/psychology books. And oddly, anything about Ebola... I'm all over the place and usually have a rotating pile near the bed.
Movies: Pretty much any hideously biased documentary. But a few favorite films are Idiocracy (Mike Judge is the Mark Twain of our time), Serial Mom, Surfwise, But I'm a Cheerleader.
Shows: X-Files, NOVA, Seinfeld, The Wire, Arrested Development, Outrageous Fortune, An Idiot Abroad, Twin Peaks.
Music: Indie, Older Hip Hop, Alternative, Reggae, Jazz.
Food: Anything SPICY! Something I've never eaten before.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I quit my job, left my life, and packed up to go on an adventure of growth and discovery. I never thought I'd be brave enough to do this and I hope I find grace, confidence, and wisdom from this journey.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I come with a laptop and am an excellent graphic designer; interactive and print. Most recently, I worked for a company in Portland heading their rebranding, designing their user interface for applications used by farmers in the field (we create horticulture software), while planning and executing all marketing campaigns. I'm a wonderful cook, a gracious guest, and an information sponge.
