my name is Jules, I grew up in Montreal, Canada, the only place in canada where they speak french. I'm a cool mix of the francophone and anglophone culture you can find in north america.
I was born, went to school , stayed there for about 15 years,from elementary school to college, then decided to travel a bit before attending university. So now I'm in france while writing those lines, and will probably be in switzerland next month. All i can say is that travelling has something magic. The fact of discovering the world throughout travels is probably the best school of all. I love seeing a lot of things, that's why you might see me in Los Angeles one day and in barcelona the week after ( never been to those two places in a row, but i tried to pick the coolest example i could find :D )
I'm interested in meeting new people, discovering new cultures, new places, to think i understood something about a place but understanding the moment after that i didn't understand a thing at all. being amazed amazes me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mostly couchsurf at the moment; not being at home doesn't permit me to host people.
but as soon as i fly back to Montreal, i'll host as much travelers as i can. I'd like to have people at home like one week out of two, or something that would look like that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed for the first time last week, in Lyon. The guys that hosted me, Fabrice and his girlfriend Sara, are some very kind persons. They prepared us a delicious welcome meal, and took us to their hometown, 20 minutes out of Lyon, where we met his parents. He also showed us the coolest places in town and took us to one of his university's party. Awesome !

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge hip hop fan, so if you have any questions about hip hop or would like to know what you should listen if you don't know about hip hop, then come ask me. I can show you underground or mainstream artists of almost any style of hip hop. I like to make discover music to people My personnal preferences are biggie smalls, nas, Big L, Gangstarr, De la soul, a tribe called quest, and so many more...
I also love reading, and i read everything, but mostly novels by french or english authors. The best novel i ever have ever read is La Chute by Albert Camus.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

rocky mountains in Canada are awesome. Whistler, a small place in those rocky mountains, in British Colombia, is a place you have to see to believe. People are probably the kindest on earth, and you have some of the biggest mountains in north america around to snowboard all day long.
the road 66, that crosses USAs from LA to Chigago is also something you have to see once in a lifetime ! breathtaking views and amazing people all the way long.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach snowboard to those who never tried that wonderful sport !
I can also teach le Quebecois, wich is the specific french we speak in montreal, very different from the one they apeak in France.
