The root of a sassafras tree (common in the Northeast United States) can be used to brew a delicious cup of tea. It has a few distinct characteristic, its leaves and scent. There are three leaf patterns on the Sassafras, One is oval shaped (one lobe), the second is mitten shaped (two lobes), and the third is hand shaped (three lobes). The scent is a spicy sweet smell that can be noticed when crushing a leaf. The tea should be drunk in moderation (like most things).
