About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To bring stupidity to a global scale

ABOUT ME

As said, I am an astronomer which brings me to lots of places. But mostly I am there by myself, working during the night. So couch surfing is even more interesting: a way to meet people at the different places I am visiting. Maybe even a mate to go and have a beer with.

Most of my holidays happen 'by accident'. Things you hear of and think: 'hey why not do that' like 'hey, why not learn to scuba' and 'hey, why not take the bike and drive to Munchen'. Thanks to sites like facebook, this has taken up completely new global dimensions: 'hey, why not drive to mongolia with a car, because I read it somewhere' or 'hey why not help putting up a stage in Barcelona, because some people look for volunteers'.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couch is available for anyone that wants to sleep in it for a short while. It is a blue-white sleep-sofa at the third floor. It is all pretty basic, but there is a kitchen, bathtub, shower and if you ask very nicely, you can even borrow my bike to visit the city centre and believe me, Leuven can be beatifull.

Interests

Music, I play a little of a lot (guitar, contrabas, accordeon, bluesharp,...) but nothing really good (poor downstairs neigbour)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Terry Pratchett books (just discovered them a year or two ago and now I almost finished the last one) and other books in English because they are (1) usually better than the dutch translations and (2) improve my English. Other nice books are the 'Day/Night watch' series of Lukjanenko and books/graphic novels of Neil Gaiman.

My movie and music taste is very diverse, but can be called 'atmospheric'. I like music with a story, like rough blues musicians, old rock bands, jazz musicians that improvise live.

Teach, Learn, Share

Astronomy, Leuven, Maths :p nothing in the 'wisdom to build your life on'-sense of things, very sorry
