Me and Dan moved to Christchurch 18 months ago for work. We are moving North in April and until the big move, would like to share our home with visitors to New Zealand.

Hosting couch surfers is kind of like travelling but without the aeroplanes and site seeing - mostly just the part where you meet people from other cultures. It gives me a break from everything being where I expect it to be.

We accept stays longer than one night only.

You can walk to Sign of the Kiwi (1.5h one-way) and Sign of the Bellbird (2.75h one-way) from our house with no driving. They give views of Christchurch and of the Lyttelton Harbour.

Terms and conditions:
By all means get comfy but look after and respect our stuff - especially the couches. Always the couches. Defend them with your life.

My Dad has been hosting couch surfers in Auckland for a long time. When I visited him, there was always someone new around with an interesting perspective or story. I moved to Christchurch around 18 months ago and I miss that.
