ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Kevin. I was born in Toronto and have lived in Toronto all my life, except for 2 months when I lived on a farm in Nova Scotia.

I have a bit of an art background from my Middle School and High School education. I was in an arts program in both schools, majoring in Visual Art.

When it comes to socializing, I tend to gravitate toward more one on one or small group encounters rather than large gatherings. That said, I still love to go to parties and meeting new people whenever I can.

I love music as well, I suppose I should put that in my interests section, but I feel like it deserves a bit more attention. I played double bass from Middle School to the end of the first grade of High School (which admittedly, is not a very long time), and picked up guitar in Grade 9 as well. I was in a school band with two other friends, and I miss it incredibly. Performing music, like art, seems to be something I neglected doing as I went on to study at UofT. Every so often I cover songs very simply with friends, but never to perform.

I am a very curious person and would like to learn and talk with a variety of people about what they think. I am open-minded and strive to be patient and non-judgmental.

PHILOSOPHY

I would like to engage in all aspects of my life with curiousity.

I want more face to face interactions with people, not e-mails, not IMs, real life interactions; technology should facilitate intimate interaction and not replace it, which is why I also think Couch Surfing is such a great idea.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My friends hosted a couple from France, and luckily I had a chance to meet them.

Following that, I traveled to Europe and stayed with a host in Graz, Vienna. He was incredibly trusting and helpful, and I am grateful for the opportunity to explore the city with his help! He hosted me on relatively short notice and despite my unfinished profile.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - My focus has been on exploring 60's Psychedelic recently. I used to be really into grunge in my high school years. My current favourite bands are The Pretty Things and Skip Bifferty, but there are a large number of other artists I love.
