About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world teaching English and making music until enlightened or world peace is achieved!

ABOUT ME

I play the flute, guitar, sing, write songs, um..., paint, dance, play on the street, in the symphony, in Jazz clubs, love New Orleans, Brooklyn, yoga, Tai Chi, meeting genuine far-out people, traveling.

Am living and teaching in China, will go back to take care of a sick girlfriend and learn more of the cultures there.

PHILOSOPHY

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

There is no existence of evil, only ignorance. Experiencing their own karma will bring everyone around to full understanding eventually.

You can trust human beings, who are essentially good, but trust them to be human.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a peaceful condo right on Folly Beach- near Charleston, SC, but I will be returning to China in 2 weeks.

So if you want to couch surf me and my friends on the beach can accommodate you in my spare bedroom or my friend's house.

Folly beach is a hippie musicians and painter's hang-out beach with laid back bars and quaint festivals and so on. 15 minutes from downtown Charleston, SC.

Also, I am looking for a place to stay April 14th-18th in New Orleans, then I go back to China and my place is open to you when I settle down there. Happy trails, y'all!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had friends who couch surf everywhere and have stayed with bandmates and friends who had couchsurfers staying with them, so I believe it is a helpful and enlightened community, a service, and a way to practice kindness, community, and hospitality, sadly all but a lost art in America today.

Interests

Meditation, Asian philosophies, Music, meditation, yoga, Tai Chi (more than martial arts), artist, painting, poetry performance, street performance (New Orleans is the best!), helping however I can, education, teaching, meeting new people, leaving the world and every place you are better than when you found it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every day, brothers and sisters. 1000s of swallows flying into a 10 story buddha amid a lake in India, the mountains of China, Native-American pow-wows, Hopi spirit dances (Kachina), ceremonies, riding a camel on the beach, surfing, rock climbing, spirit.

Teach, Learn, Share

hm...I've been a house painter, carpenter, muralist, MC, teacher, essayist, writer, journalist, and amateur Anthropologist in my time.

Esoteric? The spiritual is to me about simplicity and making your life peaceful and harmonious, thereby positively influencing all around you.

I correspond with the Abbots or monks of a Catholic monastery, Buddhist monasteries, and a Taoist organic farm/hermitage/treatment center/Tai Chi 'University.' I am friends with the chief of the South Carolina Cherokee Indians, lived with Hopi Snake Shamans in Arizona, Taoist Masters, Zen Masters, Ch'an Masters in China, lived at a Zen monastery, on an organic farm, studied Chinese Medicine at an Acupuncture college in Asheville North Carolina, and walked through India with monks from ISCON (Hare Krishna) to little villages proud of their Brhama cows.

I practice Vipassana meditation, have met extraordinary mystics, shamans, elders, teachers of all kinds, been schooled in painting, Asian art, music, Jazz, dance, poetry, songwriting, Kung Fu, Taiji, Yoga, naturalism, anthropolgy, and all that sort of thing.
