About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In the long run, I hope to be a filmmaker. Currently, I'm trying to find creative content. I hope to travel the country as often as I can meeting new people. There is also a philosophic desire to also perceive how others find happiness.

ABOUT ME

My father taught me at a young age that the only way I would be successful in life is if I constantly meet new people. Since childhood that ambition has evolved into an interest for collecting stories. I'm always eager to listen, but also to experience. As for my personality, that's really for you to decide, but I'll have you know that I keep a very open mind. Most of the extracurriculars I spent time with were diversity groups, because I wanted to create a sense of community everywhere I went. With all that in mind I wouldn't consider myself overwhelming or a handful and I respect solitude as much as the next.

PHILOSOPHY

So, I have studied several philosophers who really have convoluted my understanding of the world, but more precisely have given me perspective on my tribulations. For a long time, I haven't identified myself without the presence of others. Therefore I think it's healthy to detach myself from an experience as often as I can. Also, there's much more transparency on the things I felt were bringing me down.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like when the only trace of me left is a memory. I want to make a meal that one never forgets, or a drawing that you can keep forever. I want to do my part to make every relationship mutualistic.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My father and I spent a week driving down the east coast after he picked me up after my first year at college. We stayed at my friends place in Baltimore and cooked the house come nice soy chorizo and tofu. More recently, I spent a week in Ipswich, Massachusetts where I spent my free time visiting Boston from the public transit.

Interests

I'm certainly interested into making all sorts of art with the people who host me and or my friends. Some of my hobbies include, printmaking, meditation, songwriting, reading. I'm even down to play some ball in the court or field.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've read a lot of Vonnegut to say he is one my favorite authors, and some others include Kerouac, and Chuck Klosterman. Some books in particular that riled me up and got me interested were All The Pretty Horses, As I Lay Dying, The Botany of Desire, and Invisible Man. Music I've come to play on repeat include Mac Demarco, Phantom Planet, Jorge Ben, Girls, Beck, Angel Olsen, and St. Vincent. Movies are all over the place and some of my favorite filmmakers are Kevin Smith, Preston Sturges, Wes Anderson, Mizoguchi, Frank Capra, and Some Hitchcock films. It's the damnedest thing but one movie I can't seem to get over is the film Pleasantville and maybe that's because I saw it when I was particularly young.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be more than willing to teach anyone how Transcendental Meditation works. Of course, you need mantra but the meditative process works wonders in itself without it. I would before than willing to teach some long form improv techniques as well.
