About Me

Hi!

I'm an Australian and have lived in Sydney my whole life but I'm looking at spending more time travelling and maybe even settling down overseas for a short or longer period.

I'm pretty easy going and like having conversations with people that have different ideas. Agreeing with people all the time can get boring!

Currently I have three holidays and four destinations booked for 2018. With more hopefully on the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Never done any solo travel and got a lot lined up this year. Need at least some human contact to stave off insanity! Just want to meet some cool people at home and abroad. Really want to slow down my holidaying speed and spend some time with locals and learn what life is really like where I visit. I like walking so I tend to just wander through cities and towns at home and abroad and would love for you to join me!

I would love to take part in cultural/religious activities when appropriate!

Interests

  • outdoor activities
  • hiking
  • history
  • cinema
  • learning new things
  • meeting new people

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly listen to Rap but have a weird soft spot for Hardcore and Chillstep! Kendrick Lamar, Brockhampton, Linkin Park and Architects take up about 80% of my listening time at the moment!

I'm a big fan of cinema and tend to see a movie a week at the cinemas. Enjoy anything dark, gritty and realistic! Tarantino and Nolan are my favourite directors, Taylor Sheridan my favourite writer and Fight Club is my favourite movie.

I read mostly science and philosophical books. Currently reading through Hagakure to learn more about Japanese Samurai culture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got to run with the Olympic torch in the year 2000 for a photo shoot. I was 8 at the time and nowhere near as big and ugly!

Getting laughed at and hanging out with the chefs at an EXTREMELY spicy restaurant in Beijing. Seriously I think these guys were trying to kill us(or sell more beer).

"Borrowing" the guards' keys so we could help a local get to the bathroom on an overnight train in China. We quickly found out there was a reason it was locked.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - I know a fair amount about most things related to Technology so I'll do my best!

Learn - I would love to learn about your culture, history and cooking!

Share - Meals, stories, beliefs and hopefully friendship!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, drinks, fun and hopefully laughter!
