About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living out of a van, exploring the lower 48 states, one mile at a time.

ABOUT ME

CURRENTLY TRAVELING: New Mexico/Arizona - photographing all the abandoned mining towns and camping out along the way.

---------------------------------------

I had my daughter at a pretty young age, and now that she is off at college... I'm out on the roads exploring life. I spent the past couple of years living in Costa Rica and backpacking around Central America. Now I'm traveling across the United States, living primarily out of a van. Camping, hiking, photography and random adventures keeps me pretty satisfied on the road. You can also find me on FaceBook at: http://www.facebook.com/NosaraAdventureVacations (ignore the username as I originally set it up for a friends business in Costa Rica, but now it is my personal FB profile and can't change the username).

PHILOSOPHY

A few years ago I was living the suburban life. I wasn't happy and didn't feel like I was truly living. So one morning I woke up and decided to sell my house and basically everything else I own... and hit the road. I realized life is about experiences and I want to experience everything while I still can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I signed up to this site a couple of years ago after learning about it from fellow travelers. But I'm just now (March 2014) getting my profile setup. I don't really need a couch to stay on, but when I'm traveling through a city... a driveway to park in overnight, maybe a place to take a hot shower, or even just meeting up for a beer would be great! Mostly just looking to meet cool people and make new friends during my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Costa Rica, I lived in a small surfing community and a large majority of the travelers that came through were backpackers. I had the pleasure of putting a lot of them up on my couch and met some great friends doing it. It's great this site brings together a large community doing the same.

Interests

Things I love... traveling, tattoos, photography, camping, adventure, road-trips, sarcasm, family, true friendships, surfing, painting, hiking, jack daniels, new experiences, living life, anything outdoors, a wicked sense of humor and most importantly... my daughter. She is my heart and soul.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any good comedy will do. When I get the chance, I catch up on episodes of The Walking Dead, House Of Cards, American Pickers, and a couple more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Summer of 2013, took an epic 4 week road trip with my daughter. We traveled and explored 23 states and it was honestly the best experience of my life sharing that time with her. That trip, is what put me on my current path traveling in the van.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're planning a trip to Costa Rica... I can definitely give you the 411. I can also show you how to turn a van into a cool mobile home and live pretty comfortably in it while traveling. I'm sure I have a few more valuable bits of information floating around inside my head from life experiences. I'll learn anything... from anyone that is willing to teach.
